Projects contributing to the regeneration of water cycles
PERRIER® finances and supports projects on water regeneration. Our approach aims to implement very concrete and measurable actions to respond to shared water challenges and in particular the improvement of the quality of aquatic ecosystems and associated biodiversity.
Through this water regeneration program, Perrier supports projects carried out with local partners to help restore ecosystems that are essential to the proper functioning of the region. In the Gard region, several initiatives have already been launched, including the restoration of the Scamandre wetlands, the renaturation of the Rhôny River, the creation of ponds at Canavérier, and the maintenance of hydraulic infrastructure at Mahistre & Musette.
Among these projects, the restoration of the Scamandre wetlands has already helped re-establish the circulation of freshwater, encourage the development of reed beds, and create more favourable conditions for biodiversity. The first results are already visible: the water is clearer, new reeds are emerging, and certain bird and insect species are gradually returning.
Together, these initiatives reflect PERRIER®'s connection to the unique territory that shapes its natural mineral water.
AWS: Certification ensuring responsible management of water resources
PERRIER®'s site in Vergèze has successfully achieved the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS)* certification (https://a4ws.org/about/) which is the primary international standard for the sustainable management of water resources.
*The Alliance for Water Stewardship defines water stewardship as the use of water that is socially and culturally equitable, environmentally sustainable and economically beneficial, achieved through a stakeholder-inclusive process that includes both site- and catchment-based actions.
