COOKIES POLICY
WHAT ARE COOKIES?
When visiting Nestlé websites, both the site being viewed and third party sites will store small text files on your computer called Cookies.
Although these files are invisible to most users, we want to be transparent in communicating why they exist and why they are of benefit. We feel it’s important to inform you which cookies our sites use and how we use the data they hold.
HOW AND WHY DO WE USE COOKIES?
We use cookies to improve the use and functionality of Nestlé Sites and to gain a better understanding of how visitors use Nestlé Sites and the tools and services offered on it. Cookies help us tailor Nestlé Sites to your personal needs, to improve its user-friendliness, gain customer satisfaction feedback and to communicate to you elsewhere on the internet.
WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES MAY BE USED ON NESTLÉ SITES?
Nestlé is committed to protecting your privacy. We never store personally identifiable information in a Cookie, but we use them for the following purposes:
1. To give you a better experience.
Some of our websites allow you to log in and view information such as recipes you’ve “liked” or details on a contest you’ve entered. Cookies allow us to keep you logged into the website and remember if you prefer English or French text. Without them, you would need to log in every time you click a link and visit a new page. Additionally, we sometimes use cookies to customize the content on our websites based on the pages you are viewing or whether you have been to the website before.
2. To keep you secure.
Cookies play an important role in helping keep our website secure. We use them to prevent other people from impersonating you or causing other fraudulent and disruptive activity.
3. To integrate with social media.
In order to connect our websites to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social networks, those third party websites store cookies through our site. These allow you to do things like Tweet about a video or see which of your Facebook friends have liked a page.
4. To help us understand our audience.
We want to provide our visitors with the most relevant content and to do that we need to know who they are, where they are, and the pages they view most. We use third party systems including Google Analytics which gather anonymous information to help provide us with this data. These third parties don’t provide us with your personal information but rather, they give us anonymous information about our visitors.
HOW CAN YOU CHANGE YOUR COOKIE SETTINGS?
Although the Cookies we use will give you the best experience on our websites, you can always use your browser to block cookies from being stored on your computer. Visit All About Cookies for instructions on how to do this. However, please be aware that as a result, you may not be able to access all content on our website. Also, remember that if you use different computers in different locations, you will need to ensure that each browser is adjusted to suit your Cookie preferences.
