Storing Perrier safely
- Away from sources of odours or contamination
Your storage area should be clean. Don't store cleaning products close by, as they could impart an unpleasant odour or taste.
Too much humidity could promote fungus growth on the label or cap, with resulting unpleasant taste or odour.
- In a cool place, protected from light and sun
Light and excessive heat can alter the water's purity and unique characteristics. Don't leave a bottle in the car, for instance.
If Perrier freezes, the mineral content will be altered, and white crystals - though totally harmless - may form and settle. Glass containers may also deteriorate, so don't put bottles in the freezer.
Before drinking
- Check to make sure the bottle is well capped before opening it.
The cap should still be attached to the tear band. As you unscrew the cap, you'll feel some resistance, which indicates that no one tampered with the bottle. At a bar or restaurant, ask that the bottle be opened in front of you.
